The UFC has been waiting for a healthy Jon Jones to rebook his second heavyweight title defense. At long last, that date has finally been set.

The UFC has announced that Jones will face former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 on Nov.

16 in New York.

Jones had stated multiple times over that he was waiting to take on Miocic, despite many fans calling for a unification title fight against current interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall.

Jones wanted to face the "greatest" heavyweight of all time, and he certainly does some come November.

Jones has not fought since March 2023 when he took on Ciryl Gane for the heavyweight title.

He easily dispatched Gane in the first round, leading to becoming a two-weight class champion.
